Rallying In DC

Dear Rainbow Circle Members & Friends:

The Collective of Queer Christian Leaders (CQCL) gathered on April 14th at 10:00 am EDT for a Rally at the U.S. Capitol. This group, of which AWAB is a founding member, recognized how as a nation we are at a pivotal moment in history—a moment that calls us to rise, resist, and proclaim our righteous rage and holy hope in the face of relentless attacks on LGBTQ+ lives. From the surge in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation to the erasure of our history and the targeting of trans youth, we are witnessing a coordinated effort to strip away our dignity, safety, and rights.

But collectively, the CQCL refuses to be silent. To this end, our rally in Washington DC exceeded all of our expectations. We had a tremendous team of individuals who met weekly for 2 months to bring things together. We were moved by the number of people who traveled from near and far to participate. Our speakers, poets, song leader, and many others made this a memorable moment. It was wonderful too to have the support of Democracy Forward and Interfaith Alliance. And…we were overwhelmed by the media coverage the rally received. Below is a list of media outlets and the stories they told about our collective efforts.
