Worship Pastor Job Description
Purpose of Position
The worship pastor is tasked with the leadership of our worshipping life as a congregation, paying special attention to the gathered community in corporate worship. This position is part time and is supervised by the Lead Pastor.
Qualifications
Cohesive theology of worship
Shows commitment to living in the way of Jesus, both personally and professionally
Excellent musicality
Experience with a DAW of some sort
Experience leading worship in a semi-liturgical setting
Experience with ProPresenter and Planning Center preferred
Responsibilities
Lead the Sunday worship service in collaboration with pastoral staff
Lead the band, worship, and AV teams
Maintain and expand the canon of songs and hymns for our church
Oversee the weekly administrative needs related to these ministry areas
Shepherd the worship teams and volunteers through pastoral care, training, and spiritual formation
Supervise paid team members
Lead volunteers of Sunday morning worship and special services
Manage the flow of worship including planning, recruiting, rehearsing and leading services for both Sundays and special services
Advise larger staff of improvements to our worshiping life
Keep staff up to date on important issues related to worship and volunteers
Lead special services, such as Carol Service and holy holidays
Attend weekly worship planning and staff meetings.
