American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) is seeking a National Coordinator, Learner Engagement to help implement the strategic vision of its Center for Continuous Learning (CCL).
For nearly 200 years, ABHMS has worked to encourage and strengthen Christian leaders while supporting ministries that respond to the needs of people and communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
The National Coordinator will focus on online learning, instructional design for asynchronous courses, and strategies that recruit and engage learners. The position will work closely with ABHMS staff and external partners to develop online, hybrid, and onsite learning opportunities.
This is a full-time, exempt position based at the Leadership and Mission Building in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Regular presence in the ABHMS corporate office is required, and applicants must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate. A relocation package is available for the successful candidate.
Education and Experience
Candidates should have:

Graduate-level training in theology, Christian ministry, education, or another relevant field

At least three years of experience engaging stakeholders in diverse and multicultural settings beyond a single local congregation

At least three years of teaching or facilitation experience

A commitment to the mission and values of ABHMS

A strong understanding of Baptist identity and polity
Key Responsibilities
The National Coordinator will support the design and implementation of Center for Continuous Learning initiatives, with responsibilities that include:

Designing online courses with attention to learner engagement, assessment, and accessibility

Developing course content and facilitating learning experiences
-
Identifying trends in lifelong learning and ministry needs
-
Recruiting subject matter experts to serve as course instructors

Collaborating with partners to develop and deliver course offerings
-
Analyzing enrollment and learner engagement trends
-
Developing strategies to recruit new learners and deepen engagement with existing participants
-
Cultivating relationships throughout American Baptist networks and beyond
-
Supporting communications for CCL initiatives, including its weekly e-newsletter, online community, and MinistrElife
-
Representing ABHMS at regional and national events as assigned
The role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills, attention to detail, comfort working collaboratively, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, internet applications, and Learning Management Systems is also expected.
Some evening or weekend work may be required, along with travel throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
