Dear Rainbow Circle Members,
I fly nearly every week on behalf of AWAB. From those many hours in airports and on airplanes, I can tell you that Senator Tommy Tuberville’s claim that “furry culture” poses a threat to flight safety bears no resemblance to what I experience. It is deeply troubling to hear a member of Congress make such a claim without evidence—and to see how easily people with influence can spread fear without being held accountable by their peers.
There is a deeper concern for us at AWAB. We know how often false and demeaning claims are used to target our transgender and nonbinary siblings. When public officials ridicule or stigmatize people, the harm reaches far beyond a single headline. To our trans and nonbinary members and friends: we see you, we value you, and we stand with you.
AWAB will keep using its voice and influence to speak out for the full dignity and belonging of LGBTQ+ people. Your monthly gifts sustain that work. They also helped us bring our Here We Grow campaign to a successful conclusion—a milestone we look forward to sharing more about soon.
