The Association of Welcoming & Affirming Baptists (AWAB) is thrilled to announce a special live concert featuring award-winning drag artist and musician Flamy Grant, taking place on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio.
This unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and joy is presented by AWAB in partnership with the Open & Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ (ONA) and Peace Community Church of Oberlin. The concert will be held at The Alex Theater at Metropolitan at the 9, a beautiful downtown venue just steps from Hotel Cleveland.
Flamy Grant is a Billboard-charted, award-winning artist whose work blends folk, gospel, and roots music with queer storytelling and deep spiritual reflection. Her debut album Bible Belt Baby made history as the first by a drag artist to reach number one on the iTunes Christian charts. Since then, Flamy has become a powerful voice for authenticity, healing, and joy at the intersection of faith and LGBTQ+ identity.
For AWAB, this concert is more than a performance — it is an embodiment of our commitment to radical welcome, faith-based justice, and the sacred worth of LGBTQ+ people. In a time when drag artists and queer communities are increasingly targeted and misunderstood, hosting Flamy Grant is a public affirmation that art, faith, and truth belong together.
“Flamy’s music creates sacred space,” said AWAB leadership. “It tells the truth with tenderness, invites joy without apology, and reminds us that LGBTQ+ people are created in the image of God.”
