Viewed and Voiced: A Celebration of Gender-Diverse Voices in AWAB

AWAB is proud to announce the return of Viewed and Voiced, a special digital publication uplifting the voices, experiences, and ministries of gender-diverse people within our Member Churches or folks connected to AWAB through our partners. 

Released annually on Trans Day of Visibility (March 31), Viewed and Voiced centers the faith, creativity, and leadership of gender-diverse people—including trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming people—across the AWAB network. (Check out last year’s edition HERE) 

This publication features a curated collection of art, poetry, reflections, sermons, digital content, music, video, and stories created by gender-diverse contributors in AWAB churches. Together, these pieces offer a powerful witness to lives of faith that are often marginalized but deeply sacred.

In many faith spaces, gender-diverse people struggle to be seen or heard. Viewed and Voiced is AWAB’s response to that erasure. Through our content platforms, we are committed to putting eyes and ears on the lived experiences, ministries, and creative gifts of our gender-diverse siblings.

AWAB also invites submissions highlighting trans-centered and gender-diverse ministries led by or partnered with Member Churches, amplifying the justice-rooted work happening in local communities.

Because this publication includes multiple forms of media and requires intentional curation and design, this is a hard deadline.

The 2026 edition of Viewed and Voiced will be released on March 31, Trans Day of Visibility and shared across AWAB’s email and social media platforms.
